Why I prefer Sports Water Bottles to Disposable Bottles

I've become a fanatic for using Sports Water Bottles.

I used to buy disposable bottles of water like it was going out of style - until about a year ago.

I always thought that there was something sanitary about bottled water - there was an image in my mind of a little house by a fresh spring, near a glacier, where a family of friendly people got up every morning, and while singing happy songs, joyfully filled up plastic containers with oh so pure water.

"This water can do no wrong" - I thought - "it's PERFECT"

According to the Environmental Working Group, certain brands of bottled water are potentially dangerous to your health - even as far as having potentially cancerous causing contaminants.

On top of this statistic, a broad range of pollutants were found in 10 different brands of bottled water, including urban waste such as Tylenol and Caffeine, heavy metals, and radioactive isotopes.

It's after reading statistics such as these, that I've switched to tap water - at least with tap water I can get a report of what is coming through my pipes, and if there's something that doesn't look right, I can purchase a filtration system and have it adjusted.

As well, if I wasn't happy with a filtration system, I can always have the chance to switch to "commercial grade" bottled water - the bottles in this type of water are normally of better quality than the disposable kind, and can be automatically chilled.

"Commercial grade" bottled water is often easier to fill sports water bottles with, and goes through higher standards than smaller disposable bottles of water.

If you see that water is an important part of keeping healthy (and it definitely is) then you definitely should look into the use of proper water, as well as proper water containers.
